Work with Tzu-Chen
I will describe my personal style as warmly direct, funny, and honest. As for my clinical style, I am patient and process-oriented. I pay close attention to what’s unsaid in the client-therapist relationship more than what’s being said. While attending to the relational dynamic, I strive to remember what my clients’ have shared with me. This is my commitment to clients that I really care.

I provide psychotherapy in formats of Individuals and Dyads (e.g., siblings, parent-child, partners, friends). I see clients via Telehealth and in-person (Thursdays only). My work days are Tuesdays to Fridays, mornings and early afternoons.
Complimentary Consultation
I offer a one-time free 20-minute video or phone consultation for us to collaboratively assess whether we’re a good fit. The consultation is an extremely important first step. I wanted to make sure you find the right person and that you feel comfortable working with me.
Please note you will lose the one-time free consultation if you late-cancel or no-show.

Insurance
I do not bill insurance. This means you will pay the full fee upfront at the time of service.
If you wish to use your insurance benefits, I am happy to provide an itemized receipt of services (aka, superbill) which you can submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement. (Note: Insurance typically do not reimburse Intensives and Dyads psychotherapy).
To determine if you will be reimbursed for my service by your insurance, you should call your insurance prior to scheduling the free 20-minute consultation. Here are some questions to inquire about your out-of-network coverage:
- What are my mental health benefits?
- What is my out-of-network deductible and has it been met?
- How will I be reimbursed?
- How many therapy sessions per year does my plan cover?
- What is the coverage amount per therapy session for out-of-network providers?
- Will I need a referral from my primary care physician?
- Are there any other restrictions regarding the type of therapy or the practitioner’s credentials?
Appointment Cancellation Policy
If you need to cancel or reschedule a session, please provide as much advance notice as possible. Appointments canceled with less than 48 Business Hours’ notice will be charged for FULL cancellation fees. The late cancellation fees will not be reimbursed by insurance if you intend to use your out-of-network benefit.
Good Faith Estimate
The total amount you will spend on therapy is dependent on how many sessions you decide to schedule. I do not require a number of sessions and cannot anticipate how many you will need to reach your goals. You are entitled to, and I am happy to furnish upon request, a good faith estimate of charges.
